It’s pretty simple. You’ve got everything you need to make some nice social content. Maybe it’s a zoom recording, some footage from the phone, an old webinar. But would you watch it if it wasn’t your own? Probably not.

We take your stuff, pick out the important pieces, edit it to music, add the sound design and subtitles and hand you back an effective, engaging bit of footage for endless adulation on social.

Big Happy Desk is a video editing agency. Our speciality is working with the stuff you already own to make new amazing stuff you wish you had.

To work with us, you’ll need a budget of ROUGHLY £1K* per produced 60-90 seconds or so of video and sound. We always give a fixed price before starting and always ask you what budget you have so we can give you realistic expectations of what you can achieve.

* If you want to make something like a TV advert or that cool stuff you see Ryan Reynolds do, then you need to work with our other agency Funny as F* Films. And, because we love brutal honesty round these parts – you’ll need budgets starting around £30k for that fun!

That dandy little spot for featured posts on top of your LnkdN profile is great for a vid that tells ’em what you do. The profile vid is OK and all, but a bit limited. So go crazy with about sixty high energy seconds of “THIS IS ME” and link to it from all over the shop. BUDGET: £350-750+VAT

Nice New Stuff from Your Old Stuff

Repurposing podcast content and similar into thirty second promo clips for social. We can include sound design or leave without so you can add whatever trending toon you like on your chosen platforms. Intro, outro, b-roll, subtitles and interest included. BUDGET: £1k+VAT for ten clips from source material.

Fancy New Stuff from Your Old Stuff

Might be a top and tail edit to get a load of posts, could be a promo piece made from the things you already have lying around plus a little bit more, might be something new entirely that we need to figure out. BUDGET: About £1k per 60-90s of produced video for something complicated.

Look, I’ll be honest, “us / we” is mainly me. If you’re reading this you’re probably one of the amazing amigos on LnkdN. Either way I’m not happy unless I end up best friends with clients once we’re done. So here are a few quotes.

Chris (or Wrightee as I call him now we're best friends) is, quite frankly, a creative genius. We had little to no clue about what we wanted from our video, what we needed to do to make it cool AF, script, or anything... we just knew we wanted to get one made to share a message about a new product.

We gave him pretty much carte blanche and he gave us something bloody awesome. Communicative all the way through the process, really grasped the vibe we wanted for a cyber-based business, not cheesy, super fun to work with, all round top bloke. 10/10 would recommend.

After seeing several awesome videos that Chris made I knew his the guy I want to do my promo video for my new support service, VTAB.

ReadMe - What Makes Video Get Pricey

So amigos. These are a few of the things you should be aware of that tend to push the price of video higher than Jack’s Beanstalk:

If you add in a film crew, that’s a lot more gear and bodies

A camerawo/man brings thousands of pounds of gear and lights and know-how to a location, uses a ton of expertise to get the take right and then packs it all up and drives home. S/he might be filming in your office, or maybe you needed a location (more monaay). Sometimes there might be a sound guy/gal too. Everyone needs paying and feeding.

If you add in talent, that gets bananas

“Talent” (actors) come with their own day rates, and sometimes buy-out fees or ongoing costs (“residuals”) for a license to use their image.

If you’ve got waaaay too much footage

So, we take your footage and make something new with it. But if you send ten hours of video for us to extract a story from, that’s nearly ten hours we need to watch (obvs we’ll jog through some). As we watch it, we extract bits carefully and then begin the edit process.

If you want to create something beautiful from scratch for broadcast

We have a top tier production agency called Funny As F* Films that makes award winning films. If you want something for television, the cinema or a social ad filmed on a big set, then we’ll chat there instead of at the Big Happy Desk 🙂
